DESCRIPTION: EPW - Rolex, Swiss, World War II era British military, 52mm, nickel OF original Rolex case marked "B 12545" to its rear in addition to British military pheon (broad arrow) marking, case as-made with no bow or provision for such, white enamel SS impressed dial, SW-SS, lever escapement, 15J, mono-metallic balance with white hairspring, fausses-cĂ´tes pattern nickel damascene, caliber 548, military contract s#12545 marked to case rear and to lower portion of case band. Comes as pictured with a protective carry case and a leather pouch. An attractive example of this British military piece.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some haze to portions of plate surfaces, mild oxide spotting to winding wheels; excellent dial with pinpoint surface nick between 12 and 1, pinpoint nick to right side of seconds-register hole, fine scratch at perimeter under bezel at 8; case shows little wear, small dents to band at 4 and 10, profuse small nicks to band, small sliver of separation to rear/band seam at lower-left with some associated small surface marring where it appears someone once attempted to open with a blade or tool but fortunately rear threads on and off correctly without issue, excellent contract marking detail; crown shows very little wear; clean plastic crystal. Carry case with a mild dent to its bottom side, some scattered dark spots and marks, plastic crystal is yellowed.
